ABOUT US

We are a charitable organization founded by Pina De Rosa in 2014, who was inspired by Wellington Sr., her most beloved Golden Doodle. Her pup was the catalyst for #MissionWellington & his TreatsForPups.com, and we are grateful to continue his legacy of love.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to help pets living in the streets by keeping them fed and keeping them warm.

Animal companionship is fortifying and contributes to the emotional well-being of people experiencing homelessness, including unconditional love, security and sometimes a reason to live. We provide pets living in the streets with their humans a ray of hope, that they are not alone — that they are not abandoned. And that regardless of their condition, they deserve help and assistance.

We gift “doggie bags” containing pet food, treats, a blanket/towel, a bowl, a tennis ball, a toy, a collar and a leash, poop bags for a week (total value over $60). We do this year-round.

THE IMPORTANCE OF A COMPANION ANIMAL FOR A HOMELESS PERSON

DID YOU KNOW…

More than 95% of shelters will not give a place to sleep to a homeless person with a pet?

Over half a million people are homeless every night?

About 10% of those people have a pet. People experiencing homelessness love their pet as much as you love yours. So not to be separated from their animal, they stay on the streets – oftentimes that pet is their last connection to unconditional love, and their only sense of stability and safety.

Sadly, we often hear from the people we help.

“Homeless shelters will not provide me a bed with my dog, and there’s no way I am giving him up, so I stay out in the streets.”

IN LOVING MEMORY OF WELLINGTON WHO…

Wellington Sr., the catalyst for #MissionWellington & his TreatsForPups.com, was a most-beloved Golden Doodle.

He lived a life of purpose and service, and he even did a TEDxTalk! His legacy lives on through his @LifeAccordingToWellington Instagram.

Wellington’s heart suddenly stopped during a treatment he was undergoing for a cancer lodged inside his heart. His life was about making a difference, and a legacy of a life of service: through TreatsForPups.com, every day we gift his #MissionWellington “doggie bags” helping thousands of pets living in the streets.
